An Englishman’s look at Chinese energetics of food, Legget’s book presents the principles in an easy to assimilate manner, and a third of the book contains many lovely recipes. The Energetics of Food: Wallchart by Daverick Leggett Dimensions: x 25 inches A quality, laminated wall chart for quick reference. Energetics of Food – a beginner’s guide; Energetics of Food – a practitioner’s guide; Energetics of Fruit Database; Energetics of Vegetables Database; Chocolate: good or bad? Healthy Eating – A Chinese Medicine Perspective; Looking after our digestive system; Qigong; What Is A Balanced Diet?

The point of and benefit to understanding food energetics is to develop a more holistic perspective on our own health. There is a danger in focusing solely on nutritional properties of food when considering its effects on our health, and that has to do with ignoring the energetic properties of food. Our western view of food and nutrition seems to focus upon chemical constituents and calories. However, according to the principles of Chinese medicine all foods can be categorized according to their energetic temperature, whether they are Cold, Cool, Neutral, Warm or Hot.

Energetics of Food – a beginner’s guide; Energetics of Food – a beginner’s guide. The Language of Food. Now that we have established these basic differences in outlook we can learn to speak the language, not Chinese but the language of food. Food is described in a language which seems more poetic than scientific.   Other ways I can think of to increase the energetics of the food you are eating are: Increase your exposure to superfoods. These are things like raw cacao, goji berries, maca, bee pollen and acai. These foods all contain a “high-voltage” of life-force energy and are excellent for stimulating prana or chi in the body. Eat more raw foods.
